The North Shore of Kauai is one of the most otherworldly places we’ve ever explored and and a magical land that keeps drawing us back again and again. We were so thrilled to head there with my whole family to celebrate my parents’ 40 anniversary and just had to commemorate the occasion with a couple’s shoot. Aren’t my parents the cutest?! And the breathtaking views of Hanalei aren’t bad either.
So about a year ago Kyle (my Kyle) had a cool idea that has since turned into a full fledged business and marketing platform for photographers and wedding pros all over the country (and even in Canada). Have you heard of Wedding Pioneer?? If the idea of a non-traditional wedding appeals to you go check it out right now! Anyway, as our following started growing we decide to do a massive giveaway and provide an expenses paid trip to Hawaii for one lucky couple to elope. It felt like absolute fate that these two won, because, ugh... we just fell in love with them and couldn't have imagined a more perfect, special, beautiful, wonderful, adventure-filled day! What made the day even more incredible for us is that our own elopement happened a stone's throw away from this gorgeous sunflower farm on Waimanalo Beach. It was the BEST getting to revisit some of our favorite spots around Oahu with Kyle and Betsy. Oh how I wish they lived closer now that we're friends! The hugest thank you goes out to the other incredible vendors who donated their time and talent to make this day such a success!

As we revisit this unforgettable story in 2023, we can't help but marvel at the serendipitous journey that brought us these two incredible friends. In this digital age, the internet continues to amaze us in unexpected ways. Drew, now a dear friend, stumbled upon our work while exploring Pinterest (perhaps for the first time ever) from the lush jungles of Peru, where he and Emily's love story began.
From the very first email exchange, it was evident that we had found our kindred spirits! We arranged an engagement session during their visit to St. Louis, and the bond was instant. Last month, we had the joy of reuniting with them in Southern California to celebrate their wedding day. Little did we know that this beautiful connection would grow even stronger - they now live just 10 minutes away from us!
One of the most rewarding aspects of our profession is the lasting friendships we forge along the way. Our hearts swell with gratitude for every couple who has entrusted us to share their love story.
